Berries

The aim for this plan, Berries, is to design a memory-friendly residential neighbourhood accommodating various forms of living such as independent living, assisted living, and co-housing. Based on the previous research phase, I used the Alzheimer's Village by NORD Architects as the main reference.

The Berries consists of four residential clusters and a community center. The residential clusters are sprinkled in the design area. The walking pathway and the central park connects all of them like the branches of the berries. The community centres functions as a landmark.

Nature, food and sport are the most important factors for well-being. In this plan, I aim to provide outdoor spaces – nature- and views for everyone in the neighbourhood. The community center has integrated familiar functions within the complex, such as a grocery store, restaurants, art gallery, auditorium, reminiscent of the residents' previous lives in their neighbourhoods. The outdoor and the indoor space provide various of sports facilities for the residents and the neighbourhood.
